Recently back from a writing trip to New York where she wrote two new songs with writing partner Jeff Franzel, her album ‘Souvenirs From Stockholm’ will be out in July 2013 and she is looking forward to doing more gigs throughout the summer and beyond...

Since taking part in our Summer 2013 course, Emily swiftly appeared at the inaugural Cabaret Convention in front of promoters from across the UK and Ireland, and took part in the hugely popular talent show Cheese ‘N’ Crackers at award-winning venue, The Battersea Barge. She is currently preparing to return to The Pheasantry - where she did her showcase - as part of Cabaret Confidential in November 2013.

Since training with the SCW, Fred has moved to London and is quickly making a name for herself both as a soloist and a singer-pianist, entertaining at venues all over the Big Smoke. Upcoming appearances include the prestigious International Sangerstevne, and a brand new show "Mahna Mahna!" based on the songs and stories of the Muppets, with the incomparable Paul L Martin and The Voice Squad.

Since taking part in the SCW, Nicky has written her first one women show, Empty Nest. She has taken it to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2014, had several sell out nights at The Pheasantry in London and also made her debut at the Metropolitan Room in New York. In 2015 she is taking the show back to the Pheasantry, to Zimbabwe and then doing a tour of Norway! Her second show is already being planned.

After the cabaret performance Monique DeBose was approached by a major label executive about performing for their company to which she happily said yes!  She is currently writing and producing her third album, a satirical look at growing up mixed race; facilitating her Creative Vocal Improvisation workshops in both London and Los Angeles and is pursuing cabaret and jazz gigs on both sides of the pond.

Following the 2014 course, Gareth has delighted London audiences with regular appearances at Cheese 'n' Crackers, Holly Would’s variety show, Buzzlounge, Club Hashtag and Under Construction. Described by David McAlmont as a "sotto voce chanteuse", Gareth’s songs are highly unusual, ranging from bizarre rewrites of Disney classics to haunting tributes to transport disaster victims. Gareth recently created Suburbaret, an exciting new suburban-themed cabaret night in Balham (@Suburbaret).

Since graduating from the course Susan has added "Chanteuse" to her original title of "Jazz singer" Her performances to date include the Cellar Door, Crazy Coqs, private events, and her own monthly variety show, Buzz Lounge which runs in North London on the last Thursday of each month. Her straight jazz gigs have a new spring in their step too... Susan is currently developing a one-woman show which she will perform at Cabaret Confidential in Spring 2015.

Lynn Chambers, Summer 2014

Comic Lynn Chambers came to us in Summer 2014 cracking jokes and singing heartfelt standards.  Since then, Lynn has certainly not been idle, having set up her own production company Toucan Productions and landed a massive contract producing the GSK IMPACT Awards. She’s also formed a charity for comedians and so far raised around £11k (www.comedysupportact.org.uk). On the performing front she appeared in a short film which was selected for screening at this year's London Short Film Festival.

Already a highly accomplished public speaker, after doing the 2014 summer course Celia fast made a name for herself on the London cabaret scene and was nominated for a London Cabaret Award for Best Newcomer. Since the course, Celia has appeared in Cabaret Confidential and Suburbaret as well as gaining experience through open mic nights at Cellar Door, Crazy Coqs and West End Wendies. She has now created her first solo show, Man Wanted! which is showing in Exeter and London in 2015.

Following our Summer 2013 course, Katie has performed at The Pheasantry as part of
Cabaret Confidential, where she returns in June. Her cabaret alter-ego Violet Surrender was born from her time with Bawdsville Cabaret, with whom she spent a year as resident chanteuse, performing at venues across London including the Bush Theatre. Her material ranges from darkly comic early jazz and blues to her unique twist on pop songs from the nineties and naughties. She is currently writing her first solo show, which will be held at The Loft at Brasserie Toulouse Lautrec in October.

Described as Twickenham’s favourite chanteuse, Shelle Luscombe has been entertaining audiences in restaurants, at private parties and at outdoor events in and around South West London for several years. Having often wondered if cabaret was, in fact, her spiritual home, she attended the course in summer 2014 to see what became of her! It proved a soul-searching experience for Shelle and she’s taken away much of what she learned and channelled it into expanding her singing, compèring and presenting career.

Since completing the course in summer 2015,  Fiona has performed her show "A touch of Mrs Robinson' three more times to sell-out audiences at the London Pheasantry and will be performing it again at the London Festival of Cabaret in 2016.

She is now promoting the show on the national rural touring network and has received her first festival and theatre bookings.

Sarah Tullamore, Summer 2015

Already an established performer, Sarah trained with the SCW in 2015 and the 15 min piece she put together for her final showcase has become a full one-woman show that is currently going from strength to strength.

Sarah continues to work between Paris and London regularly and has been instrumental in setting up West End Frenchies Open Mic event since too!

As opening act for Annie Lennox, or alongside Elton John at ‘Beckingham Palace’ for David and Victoria Beckham, Suzi Woods’ vocals are in high demand. Wearing a vintage Valentino gown - at the insistence of the designer - she  has performed at the Galeria Borghese in Rome for Italian Royalty and again for the Fashion Impresario, at Blenheim Palace, England.

Since completing the course, Tamasine has found herself to be in demand from songwriters asking her to perform their material! She appeared in fellow 2016 alumni Gavin Brock’s showcase ‘Neverland to Tobago’ and in Mark Bunyan’s new residency show at The Loft at Toulouse Lautrec.

She is currently re-writing her one woman show ‘The Girl in the Red Shows’ to be performed in September 2017, collaborating with other cabaret artists and working on her compering skills.

Since venturing onto The Singers’ Cabaret course, Ebony Rose Dark scured an a artistic residency performing new works once a month at the historical Royal Vauxhall Tavern home to Bar Wotever. The Bar Wotever Residency also includes touring and Ebony Rose Dark recently performed at the Bristol Wardrobe Theatre in February and will next be performing at Brighton's Marlborough Theatre on the 12 April 2017.

Jane divides her singing life between the classical and cabaret world. Since attending the SCW in 2015, she has played Iris in Handel’s Semele and First Lady in Mozart’s Magic Flute. She has attended a SCW song surgery and most recently participated in the SCW three day Songwriters’ workshop.

In January 2017 she performed at Cabaret Confidential at the Pheasantry and has another slot booked for November 2017. In the meantime she is taking the ATCL Diploma (June 2017).
